With the winemaking team at York Winery, we worked together to select the freshest and least ripe Syrah fruit, ageing it in one year old French barrels to give a sense of grip.
A smooth and elegant wine with gripping acidity and chewy tannins. It is age-worthy, yet soft which does not distract from the up-front fruit concentration. Whole berry ferment delivers aromas of rich red fruits and black pepper on the nose. This versatile wine pairs perfectly with grilled or roasted meats, aubergine dishes, hard cheeses and rich Asian flavours such as plum sauce.
